Purpose
To create / identify sales opportunities within the 10 - 250 marketplace through reacting to inbound leads through marketing, self generated outbound leads, tactical self-driven campaigns, marketing outbound leads. The Account Manager New Business role is 100% targeted to win new business contracts in the North of England.
To win contracts for all services from non-Star customers in line with Regional targets, this can also be achieved through winning channel who introduce non customer opportunities and direct customers.
Principal Accountabilities
- Respond to incoming requests for new services in accordance with the strategy.
- Recruit and manage new channel partners.
- Develop and maintain a strategy to aggressively sell Star's portfolio of services across the region.
- To create and have a sustained growing opportunity pipeline to ensure sales are consistently delivered against targets.
- Be knowledgeable in those of Star's solutions which are most likely to be applicable to the prospects with 10 -250 employees.
- Work with the Marketing, Operations and Sales & Marketing Operations to develop new business by leveraging their expertise and delivery capabilities.
- Work closely with the Client Services Executive to ensure new customers are being managed within their expectations and that any opportunities are handled appropriately.
- Keep prospects fully aware of the launch of new services and developments within Star.
- Work with Marketing and Customers Services in order to maximise customer generated referral opportunities.
- Provide accurate forecasts and reports on activity and sales performance as and when required by management.
- Ensure all monthly KPI targets are met.
- Ensure full compliance with all internal processes including accurate and timely maintenance of CRM records.
Key Performance Indicators
- 40 quality outbound calls per day.
- Management of own database and call records ahead of the current day.
- Generate revenue and profit / contribution in line with the sales strategy and personal targets.
- Retain and grow revenue from existing accounts (3-6 months window for customers from sale).
- These KPIs, as well as other traits, skills and knowledge requirements will be measured and monitored.
Profile of Job Holder
Essential
- Significant experience in telesales, sales and/or account management experience with at least some of this being spent in an IT/Telecoms environment.
- A desire to learn through doing the job.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills.
- Experience of working with a CRM system.
- Understanding of the IT and technology industry.
- Use of MS Office applications and email.
- Knowledge of connectivity and security services.
- Proven track record of success.
- A true understanding of activity metrics that are key to success.
- Understanding of the IT industry.
- Experience of working with both volume as well as complex sales in a consultative manner.
- Can do, flexible attitude to the work ethic.
- Clean driving licence with the ability to travel within the UK as required.
